The car was built up from scratch on a shell provided and bought from Volvo Cars by Greger Petersson, a car he built for the purpose to enter in the Swedish Volvo Turbo Cup 1982, which was the premiere year of the Volvo Turbo Cup. Petersson ended up in 3rd place totally and had been a top contender the whole season. It was written in Swedish racing magazines that Greger Peterssons team was the most professional team and that the team also had the coolest transporter, this togehter with Per-Gunnar "Peggen" Andersson.

However Petersson wanted more out of the 1982 season, so he made some minor modifications on his car to be more suitable regarding the FISA regulation. He then took a team down to Silverstone, England, and on this trip was also Swedes and friends Anders Olofsson and Per-Gunnar "Peggen" Andersson. But the team encountered problems, the fuel injection engine blew during practice and when no one was watching the engine was replaced with a carburetor  engine and after that the bonnet was left closed. However little did that help as the team later in the race had to abort anyway due to a broken exhuast pipe. So to conclude the Silverstone race is that Petersson and his team was the first Volvo team ever to enter a international race, with turbo engine. Now the question was did Petersson give Volvo something to think of here or what?

During the following years the car was rented by some people, and in 1986 the car was rented by the famous Volvo driver Thomas Lindström (The RAS Sport works driver). Lindström had some time of the work as a driver in the European Championship, and there was a race in Lindströms hometown called Norrköping, here in Sweden, and the local racing authorities wanted Lindström to enter the race. So Lindström rented Peterssons Volvo for the occation - the Norrköping Grand Prix as this city race was called. Thomas Lindström entered in the saloon-class and he started by first clinching the pole position, so he would now start first in line. And during the race Lindström pushed the car so hard that he evantually ran out of brakes after only three laps! He now had to take down the pace dramatically due to the brakes but still Lindström passed  other cars, that on the paper, was to be much faster and stronger then his Volvo, he had beaten them with seconds per lap. It was said that the car must have been blessed by god to be the first car to pass the finish line, the question was how could a Volvo Turbo Cup car beat all those other stronger cars?

Later on about 10 years later the car was rebuilt to a endurance race car, and where Greger Petersson won overall in the Swedish Endurance Series. At Mantorp, Sweden, Petersson won together with his friend Per-Gunnar "Peggen" Andersson.

And since that year the car has been standing still and resting at Greger Peterssons company Sportpromotion, in good contidion still I might add.
